Find Your Style or Not
Author: Misha - Section: Beauty & Style - Rating: G
Who says what your style is? You of course! Many people believe that what's "in" is what you should be wearing. To tell you the truth, if you don't like what you're wearing, it's not your style and you're just wasting all your money buying expensive stuff you don't even like. Need help discovering your style? Just take a closer look.

What looks good on you helps you figure out your style. If you don't look good in frilly blouses, you'd probably say the girly girl look isn't for you. So how do you find what you like? Try it all on. Sure, it may take awhile, but going to different stores helps you find which brands look best on you. Also take into consideration your hairstyle and whether or not the shirt style really goes with it.

Another thing to try is looking through magazines and find tops and bottoms that you like. Just cut them out and place a top with a different bottom and see how it looks. You can even make a scrap book or design your own clothes and get them made by someone.

Thinking about the kind of music you listen to can help, too. Maybe if you like rock, clothes the color of red, black, blue, and purple will be what you like best. If you listen to pop, try pink, orange, yellow, and green. Those are just ideas, and colors can be fun to play with when it comes to fashion. Don't think that if you're into rock that you can't go for that pink top because it's "too girly".

Many things can help you define your style, but don't think of it as a must. If someone asks you what your style is, it's nice to be able to give it to them in one word like "preppy," but it's not terrible if you have to elaborate more. Tell them the types of things you like rather than a style in particular.

Basically, don't think of finding your style as a quest. Just have fun trying on new things that you normally wouldn't, taking your personality traits into consideration, and if someone happens to ask you "What's your style?" give it to them. Let them know you like preppy, bohemian, sporty, mod, rock, and girly girl. Who knows, you may just have those in common. Maybe they're interested in a chance to try some of your mod clothes on and will let you try their favorite girly girl dress. Fashion is all about fun, not just what's "in" and what's not, is the point.
