All About Bella - Breaking Dawn Style
Author: Darla - Section: Media - Rating: PG-13
Note: This was written for my English class as a book repsonse. It might not seem like my normal writing, but that's because I can't put all of my humorous tactics in my school work.
Isabella "Bella" Swan has brown hair and brown eyes and is eighteen years old. She is not the most graceful person in the world and she's constantly falling over things. In the beginning of the book, her fiance, Edward Cullen, buys her a car that has missile proof glass, because she's a "danger magnet". Bella thinks of herself as an ordinary girl, with a very unordinary boyfriend, who just happens to be a vampire.
Within the first few chapters, Edward and Bella get married, and although Bella never expected to be married so young, she has a good time. During the wedding, Bella's best friend (and werewolf), Jacob Black, comes back to visit. At first it seems that they are getting along very well, but by the end Jacob has made Bella very mad, and he leaves.
Although, Bella faces lots of hardships in her life (parent's divorce, losing her boyfriend, losing her best friend, etc.) she is still a very caring person. During Breaking Dawn, Bella becomes pregnant with a half-human-half-vampire baby, who is basically eating her insides. Even though this baby could potentially kill Bella, she cares for the baby and lives through a lot of pain.
A little after the middle of the book, Bella gives birth to her baby girl, Renesmee. On her death bed, Edward turns Bella into a vampire. When turned into a vampire, venom flows through your blood, and it feels like your being burned alive. Throughout Bella's vampire-turning-process, she doesn't scream or flinch at all, as to not have Edward feeling bad for her. This shows another one of Bella's characterization: strength.
As Bella is turned into a vampire, her appearance, personality, and whole way of life is basically changed. Her face is flawless, her hair is flowing, and her eyes are topaz/gold. Bella can see colors that she didn't know extended, she can hear everything, her voice is more "sing-song" and she can walk without falling. Most newborns can't control themselves when around human blood, but Bella shows another strength by resisting. And although Bella never planned on being a mother, her maternal instincts are beyond amazing.
At the end of Breaking Dawn, the Cullen family learns that the royal vampire family, The Volturi, are coming after them. Bella faces yet another hardship: they want her baby. She learns to use her family power, which is a shield, to protect the Cullen's, other "good" vampires, and the werewolves.
I feel that Bella's biggest accomplishment in the story was after she was Bella Cullen, the human. She put herself through torture to save her unborn baby's life and faces death. Breaking Dawn was an amazing book, and I feel that all of Bella's biggest strengths were in this book.
